The Swan Inn is a majestic building overlooking a sharp bend in the River Bure.

The origins of The Swan were a cottage built on the site in 1696 but the main part of the building dates from the “early” 19th century. It’s position on the Norfolk Broads has made it a distinctive landmark for river users and locals alike, it’s most recent claim to fame being the setting for two of Arthur Ransom’s (author of Swallows and Amazons) children’s books ‘Coot Club’ and ‘The Big Six’.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal spring dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste – which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

We look forward to welcoming you!
